If a manufacturer still supports a part, we can usually get hold of it. When it comes to fitting a new system, we install five lines. Trane, American Standard, Goodman, Bosch, and Concord. Anything outside that we keep running rather than supply, and we will happily price you an equivalent from the lines we do fit. We chose those five for how the equipment suits a house and how quickly parts arrive, not because a manufacturer asked us to fly its flag.

What Your Model And Serial Number Tell You
Plenty of homeowners call without knowing what they own, and that is fine. Two numbers on the side of the equipment answer most of it, and you can find them in about a minute.
Where to find it
The data plate is a metal sticker on the side of the outdoor unit, and another sits inside the furnace door on the blower compartment. Photograph both once with your phone. You will never hunt for them again, and neither will we.
What the model number says
The middle digits usually carry the capacity, measured in tons, where one ton describes an amount of cooling rather than the weight of anything. The rest points at the efficiency tier. Together they tell us whether your system was sized for your house.
What the serial number says
Somewhere in that string is the year the equipment was built, and that single fact tells us more than the badge does. A furnace from 2007 and one from 2019 need different conversations, whatever name is stamped on the cabinet.
Call it in, and our technicians can often tell you what your system needs before anyone drives out. A penguin does not read the label on the fish, and neither do we.
What To Ask For Before You Sign
Three questions separate a quote worth accepting from a number on a page, and they work on us as well as on anybody else. Ask all three of whoever you are considering. Anyone who will not answer them has told you something.
The sizing math
Ask to see the load calculation, which is the room-by-room measurement of how much heating and cooling your house needs. Most quotes skip it and copy the size off your old unit, which inherits whatever mistake was made last time. Bigger is not safer. An oversized system blasts and shuts off, so the house ends up humid, and the parts wear out early.
The model numbers of both halves
A system is two pieces: the outdoor unit and the indoor coil, and the efficiency figure on the sticker only holds if that exact pair was tested together. The industry body that tests the combinations publishes a certificate for each one. Ask for both model numbers written on the quote and the certificate number that matches them.
The readings from the day it goes in
Ask for the startup numbers written on the invoice. That means refrigerant weighed in rather than guessed, airflow measured, and the temperature drop across the coil recorded. The trade calls it commissioning, and it separates equipment that was installed from equipment that was installed correctly. It is the first thing to vanish when a crew is behind schedule.

What Rebate Money Can You Get In Chester County?
Some, and less of it than you have probably read about. The money that reaches a Chester County homeowner follows what the equipment is rated at, never the badge on the side of it, and never who sold it to you. Here is what is open.
Start with the one that ended, because it is the number most people are still carrying around. The federal tax credit that put up to $2,000 back toward a heat pump expired on 31 December 2025. Equipment installed on or after 1 January 2026 does not qualify, whatever a page you read last spring still says. We would rather you hear that from us now than after you have built a budget around it.
What is still going is your electric utility. Chester County sits in PECO territory, and PECO pays a residential rebate on high-efficiency heat pumps under Act 129, which is the Pennsylvania law that makes utilities fund energy-saving upgrades. It pays based on the efficiency rating of what goes in, so it has no opinion about which brand you choose or who bolts it down.
Act 129 runs in phases, and the current phase opened on 1 June 2026, so published amounts have been moving all year. We will quote you what is open the week you book rather than a number lifted from an older page.
Here is the part a dealer will not tell you. A manufacturer’s own seasonal rebate almost always requires buying through its dealer network, which is why the biggest advertised numbers arrive with a badge attached to them. Utility money works the other way round. Act 129 asks what the equipment is rated at and never who installed it, so having no flag to fly costs you nothing here. We size and quote to the threshold, then hand you the invoice detail the application asks for.
Your PECO heat pump rebate
PECO pays this to its own residential electric customers for an ENERGY STAR-rated heat pump. The amount steps up with the efficiency tier, and the application closes a set number of days after installation, so the paperwork is worth starting the week it goes in.
